I grew up with Pennsylvania Dutch birth plates in our home and the feel of the different layers held such a fascination for me that I was eager to learn the technique when I got older and have been making plates for many years now.

When I began to feel a little limited with the designs I started experimenting with the Celtic knotwork and using richer, deeper colors which resulted in what you see today on many of my pieces.
