SGRAF-FI-TO -- TO SCRATCH

I grew up with Pennsylvania Dutch birth plates in our home and the feel of the different layers held such a fascination for me that I was eager to learn the technique when I got older and have been making plates for many years now.

When I began to feel a little limited with the designs I started experimenting with the Celtic knotwork and using richer, deeper colors which resulted in what you see today on many of my pieces.

Celebrate weddings, births, anniversaries or any significant life event as well as home blessings and family trees with my Sgraffito Redware plates.
